Five Star Austrian Pastry Chef Gerhard Michler and wife and business partner Mary Michler receive Certificate of Honor, from the City of San Francisco at Austrian Day ceremonies in San Francisco City Hall.

Five Star Austrian Pastry Chef Gerhard Michler and his wife and business partner, Mary Michler were awarded a Certificate of Honor, from the City of San Francisco and Mayor Gavin Newsom, during Austrian Day ceremonies recently held at San Francisco City Hall. During the ceremony, Mary and Gerhard were pleasantly surprised to learn that not only were they the honored guests of Dr. Peter Fredericks, Honorary Consul of the Austria Consulate for San Francisco, but they were also being honored for the 20th anniversary of the founding of Creative International Pastries, Inc., and for sharing and promoting the glory of Austrian pastry making and culture with the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Austria is legendary for its culture, including music, art, architecture, and the culinary arts, including pastry making, which has been passed down through the centuries. Ceremony attendees including the Swiss, German, and Austrian Consul Generals and representatives from the Mayor’s Office, enjoyed Gerhard Michler’s petit fours designed especially for the event, thus experiencing first hand the glory of Austrian pastry making and culture!
